June 5, 2005
The New York Mets and Banco Popular are encouraging kids to learn, have fun and exercise their imagination during the summer, through their support of the Summer Reading 2005 initiative. As part of this initiative, three public libraries in New York City — The New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library, and Queens Library — have organized a series of events that will be held throughout the summer, for kids of all ages.
“Summer is a perfect time for kids to enjoy and explore new books. By encouraging children to keep up their reading during summer break we are helping them to build and sharpen their reading abilities which will better prepare them for their school year’s ahead. Banco Popular is very proud to support Summer Reading 2005 and to invest in the education of young people,” said Michelle Imbasciani, Senior Vice President, New York Metro Region Executive of Banco Popular.
