Hispanic Magazine Honors Outstanding Hispanic Women.

Hispanic Magazine will present its fourteenth annual Latina Excellence Awards program at a luncheon in New York City on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the St. Regis Hotel, located at Two East 55th Street and Fifth Avenue. The Latina Excellence Awards honor Hispanic American women who have made significant contributions in their chosen field of endeavor and made a positive impact on the Hispanic community.

The keynote speaker will be Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army (retired); Highest Ranking Hispanic Woman in U.S. Army’s Combat Support Field; Founder of Educational Achievement Services Inc. In 1996 LTC (Ret.) Consuelo Kickbusch was selected out of 26,000 candidates to assume a command post, which would put her on track for General Officer rank. Consuelo Kickbusch declined the honor, retired as a twenty-year veteran and founded Educational Achievement Services Inc. to realize her personal dream and mission of preparing tomorrow’s leaders today. Serving as master of ceremonies is Monica Morales, Reporter, WNBC-TV.

The Latina Excellence Awards, an annual event of Hispanic Magazine, celebrates inspiring Latinas who rise to make positive contributions in America. These women have helped to positively impact and shape the general opinion and view of the Hispanic community as a whole.

The honorees this year are Col. Norma Tovar, Director, Training Operations Management Activity, Fort Monroe, Virginia; Dr. Tessa Martinez-Pollack, President of Our Lady of the Lake University San Antonio; Lita Haeger, President, Association of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce in Florida; Julie Stav, Author and Talk Show Host; Soledad O’Brien, Anchor, CNN; Lynda Carter, Actress; Patricia Madrid, Attorney General State of New Mexico; Frances A. Sevilla-Sacasa, CEO, Latin America The Citigroup Private Bank; Marjorie L. Torres, President & CEO, Concrete Stories.
