Nuevas Voces de America Winner To Be Reveled @ Telemundo On Sunday.

This Sunday, May 29th a virtually unknown U.S. Hispanic artist will jump into stardom when the winner of Telemundo’s music reality show “Nuevas Voces de America” (New Voices of America) is announced during the program’s grand finale, which airs at 8PM (7pm/c) on Telemundo.

The results of viewers’ votes will determine which one of the three finalists including twenty-two-year-old Gerardo Arturo Lopez, Jr. of Eagle Pass, Texas, twenty-seven-year-old Oscar Rivera of Ponce, Puerto Rico or thirty-two-year-old Gio Williams of the Bronx, New York will receive a recording contract with Universal Music Latino worth $250,000.

Gerardo Arturo López, Jr., was born in Eagle Pass, Texas. He has won multiple awards as a mariachi vocalist, but graduating with a fine arts degree from Baylor University, located in Waco, Texas, is his most treasured accomplishment to this day. Puerto Rican native Oscar Rivera won the best-composer award at San Juan’s Primer Festival de Voz y Canción (The First Voice and Song Festival). Having contributed his singing and guitar playing to his church most of his life, he most enjoys pop music and ballads. Gio Williams, who plays several instruments and writes lyrics, was born in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. He grew up in the Bronx, New York, and everyone in his family, including his parents and three siblings, are musicians.

When the show premiered in February, 20 hopefuls were selected from a pool of thousands who auditioned in L.A., NY, Miami, San Antonio and Puerto Rico. During the past 15 weeks, the contestants have undergone intense trainings led by Emilio Estefan, the renowned producer who helped launch the careers of many Latin mega stars like Thalia, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan. Week by week, health and fitness trainings, choreography, media training, beauty and fashion makeovers, and vocal coaching has shaped each of these artists, allowing the competition to intensify as one-by-one they were evaluated by judges, and eliminated by viewers, leaving the very last three.
