Univision 2005-2006 Line-up.

Univision today unveiled its programming schedule for the 2005-2006 season. This season has been exceptional for Univision, with Adult 18-49 viewership up 25% and Adult 18-34 viewership up 38%. Univision continues to be the 5th largest network — in any language — averaging 2.2 million Adults 18-49 and 1.4 million Adults 18-34 in primetime. On 146 out of the 231 nights so far this season, Univision beat either ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX, drawing a larger total Adult 18-34 audience. In addition, on 21 nights this season, Univision attracted more total Adult 18-34 viewers than any other network, ranking as the #1 television network in the entire country.

“This season Univision has truly entered a new era; we now consistently beat at least one of the ‘Big 4’ English-language networks, attracting more young viewers on nearly two out of every three nights this season,” said Alina Falcon, Executive Vice President and Operating Manager, Univision Television Network. “The network is getting stronger every day, and our prospects going into 2005-2006 have never been better. We pride ourselves on being the network of mega events, and in the upcoming season the Latin GRAMMY® awards and the 2006 World Cup will be added to our unparalleled lineup of special programming. We are also revolutionizing late night television with our new talk show, just as we did with morning television when we launched ‘Despierta America’ eight years ago. And of special note in the upcoming season, respected journalist and news anchor Jorge Ramos will bring the issues of importance and special interest to the U.S. Hispanic community to the forefront with a new weekend morning news show.”

“Our ability to promote across a broad family of media assets coupled with a deep, unique understanding of our audiences’ preferences has made us a regular in the ‘Big 4’ and a formidable competitor in the overall broadcast television landscape,” said Dennis McCauley, Co-President, Network Sales. “In the current season, our audience has grown more than any other broadcast network in the most sought-after 18-49 demographic, and it is clear that Univision’s distinct brand resonates with both our audiences and our advertisers now more than ever. For the upcoming season, we’re thrilled once again to be the Spanish-language home of the World Cup, which attracted 35 million viewers four years ago and is sure to be an even greater success in 2006 with more accessible game times live from Germany. Advertisers looking for alternative places for their dollars this season should look no further than the Univision Networks — the Hispanic population and its buying power are booming, and we are able to provide advertisers with a multifaceted marketing opportunity to effectively reach this essential demographic.”
