Fox Sports en Español 2005 MLS Matches.

MLS Season 10 marks the third consecutive year that Fox Sports en Español will carry national telecasts from the premier soccer league in the United States. Fox Sports en Español began its transmissions of the 2005 season on April 2 with the opening day match between Columbus Crew and the Los Angeles Galaxy. The all-sports Spanish-language network will broadcast 29 regular season games, as well as a selection of playoff matches from each of the MLS teams, including new expansion teams Club Deportivo Chivas USA and Real Salt Lake.

Chivas USA will try to carry on the tradition of its Mexican League counterpart CD Guadalajara here in the United States. Legendary midfielder Ramon Ramirez, who played for the Mexican national team in two World Cups (1994 and 1998), and won a Mexican league title with Chivas of Guadalajara in the Verano 1997 tournament, hopes to lead the U.S. counterpart to a successful season although they have had a tumultuous start. Based out of Carson, California, the team will share a home with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Former Galaxy player, Carlos Ruiz, who was named an All-Star in each of his first two seasons in MLS, as well as MLS Player of the Month for August 2004, will pave the way for FC Dallas as their season gets underway. Meanwhile in New York, the MetroStars head into the 2005 season looking for a breakout year from their dynamic playmaker Amado Guevara. The Honduran midfielder received the League Scoring Champion award with 30 points in 2004, was named the 2004 MLS MVP, and was the recipient of the 2004 Premios Fox Sports Outstanding MLS Player of the Year. MLS Season 10 will prove to be the most exciting season yet.
