Días De Gloria ‘Copa Libertadores’ @ Fox Sports en Español.

Fox Sports en Español opened its coverage of the 2005 Copa Libertadores soccer competition yesterday with two back-to-back telecasts: Quilmes (Argentina) tied with Colo Colo (Chile), 0-0 and America de Cali (Colombia) defeated Mineros (Venezuela), 2-0. Fox Sports en Español retains the broadcast rights of the 138 games of this exciting six-month tournament including the semi-finals and the climatic finals in July.

Mexican teams were guaranteed two berths following their participation in January’s InterLiga qualifying tournament. Representing Mexico in the 2005 Copa Libertadores are Pachuca, Tigres and Chivas who faces Cienciano of Peru today, Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 pm PT. Returning to defend their title was the surprise team of last year, 2004 Copa Libertadores champions Once Caldas of Colombia. Their first match is against San Lorenzo of Argentina on Thursday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. (ET)/3:30 p.m. (PT).
