For the first time, GUND, a leading plush manufacturer with more than a century of tradition in quality and innovation is introducing social expression plush “En Espanol”. The Spanish line represents translations of GUND’s popular social expression offerings and babyGUND plush.

From the best selling babyGUND “My First” collection, these classic bears are translated into Spanish. For a new baby girl, the pastel pink bear is embroidered with “Es Una Nina” which translates as “It’s A Girl”. In light blue, “Es Un Nino” means “It’s a Boy”. Each bear also comes with a matching pink or blue ribbon around the neck. Available sizes are 8.5″, 15″ and 26″.

“We are excited about our debut in the Spanish language market,” said Jim Madonna, President, GUND. “The Hispanic focus on family and celebrations is a perfect fit for our plush designs and we are confident they will be well received by Hispanic consumers.”

Gund’s first Spanish playsets are Feliz Cumpleanos (Happy Birthday), Mi Gatita (My Kitty) and Mi Perrito (My Puppy). Each playset is embroidered with the Spanish word description. My First Birthday contains a present that crinkles, rattle cupcake, party hat that crinkles, a squeaky camera and mirror, birthday cake with photo holder and a bear that plays Happy Birthday.

My Kitty is shaped like a portable pet carrier and contains a cat with meow mechanism, a jingle ball, a squeaky mouse and water dish that crinkles. Shaped like a dog house, My Puppy holds a barking puppy, jingle ball, crinkle water dish and bone.

Also translated into Spanish from babyGUND is the “Jesus Me Ama)” (Jesus Loves Me) collection. Designed around a soft white lamb with yellow face and feet, available styles include a 5″ plush and an 8″ musical that plays “Jesus Loves Me”. The Jesus Loves Me Spanish collection also features an 11″ lamb clutching a blankie and a Jesus Loves Me Comfy Cozy(R) rug, complete with satin paw pads. In all four styles, the “Jesus Me Ama” message is displayed on a satin ribbon.

From Gund’s message bears, Say “Feliz Cumpleanos” (Happy Birthday) with the Confetti(TM) Birthday bear, available with red or blue party hats and noise maker. To say “Mejorate pronto” (Get Well Soon), choose from a brown bear wearing an ice pack and bandage, a light beige bear with a cast and crutch or a honey colored bear holding a pink bouquet of roses.
