Chivas & Tigres Qualify For 2005 Copa Toyota Libertadores

The last two Mexican club teams have qualified for the remaining spots for the 2005 Copa Toyota Libertadores. Tigres triumphed over Toluca 2 to 0, while Chivas defeated Jaguares in penalty kicks (5-3) after a heated 1 to 1 draw that brought two expulsions in front of 30,000 fans in Houston, Texas. Tigres’ win automatically granted them the final spot in Group 6 for the upcoming tournament while Chivas will be battling Cienciano of Peru beginning on Wednesday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT and meet again the following Wednesday, February 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT for the final spot in Group 7.
