Univision Partnered With USO To Show Support For Military.

Univision Radio and Univision Online joined forces with the United Service Organizations (USO) to offer the Hispanic community a unique way to show their support of America’s brave men and women in uniform over the holiday season. Through “Operation USO Care Package,” individuals can write a personal message of support and sponsor a care package to be delivered to service members deployed overseas.

Because of heightened security, letters and packages can no longer be addressed “Deliver to Any Service Member.” As an option, Operation USO Care Package, which is endorsed by the Department of Defense, delivers secure care packages to service members who are far from their friends and families. Each Operation USO Care Package includes items most requested by troops, such as a prepaid international calling card, toiletries, disposable camera, sunscreen and handy wipes.

“We are proud to join forces with the USO in this unprecedented effort to create awareness of the USO Care Package in the Hispanic community,” stated Jorge Plasencia, Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Univision Radio. “We want the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and on the ground in other areas to know that we appreciate their distinguished service,” added Plasencia.

Univision encouraged the Hispanic community to unite in support of Operation USO Care Package through Univision Radio, Univision.com and the Univision Television Network. Through Univision, individuals were able to make a donation to Operation USO Care Package in any dollar amount at http://www.Univision.com, Uniclave: Nuestros Heroes. With every donation, individuals also could write a personal message to deployed service members, thanking them for their service and sacrifice.
