WorldLink To Sell For WAPA-America.
October 29, 2004
WAPA-America, a new Hispanic programming service for satellite and cable distribution in the United States, and WorldLink, one of the world’s fastest growing media sales firms, have entered into an exclusive representation agreement for all infomercial and direct response spot advertising sales.
“WAPA-America is an established and popular channel in Puerto Rico and we are excited to be part of its launch into the US Hispanic market,” said Knight. “WorldLink has long recognized the burgeoning purchasing power of the Hispanic market and we look forward to bringing this important audience to our advertisers.”
Programmed out of WAPA-TV, LIN TV’s station in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the new WAPA-America service includes current Puerto Rican news and entertainment shows, as well as classic programming from WAPA’s extensive prime time library. WAPA-America’s programming line-up features “SuperXclusivo,” the number one rated show in Puerto Rico, and more than 40 hours of news each week, produced by the Noticentro 4 news team.
“WorldLink has been a pioneer in bringing infomercials and direct response advertising to Hispanic customers in-language,” said LIN TV Vice President of Television Paul Karpowicz. “Their innovative thinking and longstanding relationships will be an ideal complement to our network as we establish ourselves in the national marketplace.”
