Ad Age Acquires American Demographics Magazine.

Crain Communications Inc, publisher of Advertising Age, has acquired from Primedia its American Demographics magazine, the nation’s leading publication for analysis of consumer demographic data. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Though the stand-alone monthly publication of American Demographics will cease, the highly respected American Demographics brand of analysis will become a regular feature in print and online within Ad Age, both as targeted special reports and as part of Ad Age’s ongoing coverage of marketing and demographics.

“American Demographics will give a giant boost to the types of research we can provide our readers,” said Rance Crain, president and editor-in-chief of Advertising Age. “This is a very welcome addition to the Ad Age brand of information.”
