Lopez Negrete Communications Growth Requires Relocation.

After a year of unprecedented growth, Lopez Negrete Communications will move to its new permanent offices at the striking and historic Jefferson Chemical Building located at 3336 Richmond Avenue on Monday, November 1st.

The award-winning Jefferson Chemical Building was originally developed by Kenneth Schnitzer, who subsequently developed many Houston downtown skyscrapers, the Compaq Center and much of Greenway Plaza, the city’s first planned business/residential complex. The building was built by the architectural firm of Neuhaus & Taylor – which became what is today 3D International.

“Cathy and I started this business almost 20 years ago in our home from a 3’x 2’ roll-top desk with the vision, passion and commitment that Hispanic marketing was the right thing to do – for our community and for business,” said Alex López Negrete, President and CEO of the Houston-based company. “We are both proud and humbled by the agency’s growth, the trust our clients have placed in us and the number of talented professionals who have joined our agency; all of whom directly provided us with the opportunity to not only purchase a building, but build a new home from which our corporate family can continue to generate breakthrough work.”

Lopez Negrete has maintained steady growth since its inception. However, most recently, Lopez Negrete was recognized by AdAge as the fastest growing Hispanic marketing and communications agency in the country, with over 50 percent growth in revenue from 2002 to 2003.

The agency will occupy more than 40,000 square feet on the first two floors of the four-story, 80,000 square foot building. The 90+ employees will enjoy state-of-the-art technological connectivity, eight new conference rooms and two beautiful garden atriums. Agency Chief Financial Officer Cathy López Negrete worked with architect Mark Goulas of the firm Goulas & Associates to renovate the building’s interior.

“Cathy’s leadership from a financial perspective has certainly set the stage for growth, allowing us to reinvest our financial resources into the agency operations so that we could provide a wide spectrum of resources to our clients … resources of a much larger agency. Additionally, we are fortunate that Cathy took on the daunting task of creating the look and feel of our new home from scratch. She’s worked diligently to ensure that the new building captures the essence and personality of the agency,” said Alex López Negrete. “Her masterful eye has brought together colors, furniture and art that represent the warmth of our culture, the vibrancy of our agency’s character and is an eclectic mix that represents our employees who come from all over the world. It is truly a dream come true for us all.”
