Univision Draws More Viewers – Hispanic or Non-Hispanic – Than 5 English Language Networks.
October 1, 2004
Univision Network reached another audience milestone with the 2-hour grand finale of its primetime novela, “Amarte es Mi Pecado” (My Love, My Sin), this past Friday, October 22. The final episode of this highly successful drama delivered more Adult 18-49 viewers nationwide – Hispanic or non-Hispanic – than the programming of ABC, CBS, FOX, WB or UPN.
Univision frequently achieves the #1 spot in primetime, ahead of English and Spanish-language competitors, in many major markets such as Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix. The extraordinary nationwide results of the final episode of “Amarte es Mi Pecado” (over 3 million Adult 18-49 viewers) clearly demonstrate the emerging importance of Spanish-language television on a national level and within the total media landscape.
In addition, the hugely successful conclusion of “Amarte es Mi Pecado” provided an excellent promotional platform for the launch of its newest blockbuster novela “Amor Real,” which is expected to build on the popularity of its predecessor.
