Presidential Candidates To Appear on Univision’s ‘Sabado Gigante’.
September 28, 2004
As the heated presidential campaign comes to a close, Univision’s “Sábado Gigante” (Gigantic Saturday) will air interviews with both President George W. Bush and Senator John F. Kerry. Host Mario Kreutzberger, better known as “Don Francisco,” interviews both presidential candidates on October 30 at 8pm (7 Central), the last Saturday before Election Day.
One hour of the three-hour program is dedicated to the 2004 presidential election and includes intimate interviews with the candidates, highlights the importance of voting, and presents issues of particular interest to Hispanics. Don Francisco met with Senator Kerry in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and with President George W. Bush in Washington D.C., to talk candidly about their campaigns and their thoughts on immigration, amnesty, family values and religion.
Don Francisco stresses the significance of the Hispanic vote to television viewers and the power of the Hispanic vote. For the 2000 presidential election, Don Francisco also interviewed then Vice President Al Gore and Governor George W. Bush in an effort to alert Hispanics to the importance of voting.
