Another example of the network’s “alternative programming” strategy, TeleFutura’s family hour has been a ratings success. Number one in its time slot for its genre when it aired in Mexico, “Amy” stars Eduardo Capetillo, Nora Salinas, Danna Paola, Pedro Armendáriz, Alejandro Tommasi and also features the return of television star Tatiana.

“Amy” will warm hearts of all viewers with her charming and touching story. Lost at sea, the infant Amy (Danna Paola) is rescued by the noble fisherman Matías (Pedro Armendáriz). Now a beautiful eight-year old, Amy lives on a rickety old shrimp boat and is teased for being tomboyish. At a nearby orphanage, a bitter and evil headmistress sets her sights on bringing Amy into her plot of exploiting her frightened little orphans to beg for charity. But Amy, with the help of her best friend, fights to save the orphans and meets a beautiful mermaid named Coral (Tatiana) who reveals a magical universe that leads to the greatest treasure of all: happiness.
