Association of Hispanic Advertising and Media Professionals … Does Dallas Again.

With the pre-eminence of the Hispanic market over the past 15 months, there have been numerous marketing articles written on the changing face of the Hispanic market. In light of the national attention to the different sub-segments of the market, the Association of Hispanic Advertising and Media Professionals (AHAMP) will be holding a conference luncheon on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Dallas Museum of Art from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The topic to be conveyed at this first of two events will be “The U.S. Hispanic Market Composition” – Bilingual/English Dominant Hispanics.

AHAMP will host two top industry professionals whose focus is to enlighten and educate the audience on the Bilingual/English dominant Hispanic market of today. Suzanne Irizarry de Lopez, Director of Business Development at Bilingual Research Services, will focus on what she describes as “the importance of reaching and marketing to the growing bicultural Hispanic population by knowing when Hispanics are part of the general market.” Irizarry has been researching Hispanic consumers for over 12 years and has worked for several well known market research firms such as Cheskin, Cultural Access, Common Knowledge and Savitz. Suzanne Irizarry de Lopez grew up in Puerto Rico and went to the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with degrees in Communications and Sociology.

Daniel Crowe, President of LATV, also brings his expertise to the conference and will share his vision about serving the interests and preferences of U.S. Hispanic youth and young adults, of whom he believes to be “a rapidly growing but largely underserved demographic.” Crowe currently defines the strategic direction and oversees the daily operations of LATV. He began his broadcast career more than 20 years ago at the Spanish International Network (SIN), now Univision, and went on to hold various management positions at Univision, Telemundo and Galavision. Crowe also brings experience in the world of Internet and radio and holds degrees in Spanish and Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

“Our intention with this and many more conferences to come is to bring research and information to all industry professionals, whether this information targets the English and/or Spanish dominant Hispanics,” says AHAMP PR Chairperson, Karla Armendariz. Our purpose is simply to bring the best the industry has to offer into a setting that encourages communication and a sharing of ideas while creating stronger professional bonds.

Admission will be $15 per person and will include lunch. Space is limited for this event. For more information call 972-960-1707 to r.s.v.p.
