¡SORPRESA! Network Adds Comcast Chicago.

Continuing to build upon its national footprint, ¡SORPRESA! will be launching in Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region on September 15th; making the network available to 1.7 million Chicago Comcast customers. The channel will be part of the system’s “Selecto Complete” Hispanic package.

In announcing the Comcast carriage agreement, Christopher Firestone, vice president of affiliate relations for Firestone Communications, the parent company of ¡SORPRESA!, stated, “Chicago is one of the fastest growing Hispanic markets in the country and we are excited to bring this community popular Spanish language programming never before broadcast in the United States. Families and kids will enjoy the programming because it is entertaining, educational and culturally relevant.”

“At Comcast, providing a culturally diverse and extensive programming lineup to better serve our customers has always been a top priority,” said Eric Schaefer, Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region vice president of sales and marketing. “The launch of Selecto Completo with its culturally rich programming demonstrates our commitment to meeting the needs of the Hispanic community throughout the region. We are sure our customers will find that networks, such as ¡SORPRESA! provide added value to their Comcast service,” added Schaefer.

¡SORPRESA! targets pre-school and younger Hispanic children during the morning and afternoon with animation, pre-school series, variety, documentaries and special events. The channel’s late evening schedule targets tweens with comedy, game shows, music programs and movies.
