Nielsen: Local Market Universe Estimates.

The total number of television households within the U.S. local television markets (including Alaska and Hawaii) is estimated at 109,590,170, according to Nielsen Media Research. These local estimates, which are projected to January 1, 2005, will be used for the entire 2004-2005 television season.

Nielsen Media Research annually reports television household estimates based on information from a variety of sources, including Claritas, the United States Census Bureau, and Nielsen Media Research’s samples.
