Telemundo announced its 2004 Athens Olympic Games programming schedule, which provides the first non-English language Olympic broadcast in the history of U.S. television. The announcement was made today by Jorge Hidalgo, Executive Vice President of Telemundo Sports.
“We are thrilled to present complete and unique Olympic coverage, especially produced for our U.S. Spanish language audience,” said Hidalgo. “As part of our commitment, Telemundo will bring the very best coverage of the sports Hispanics are passionate about, including soccer, boxing, baseball and basketball, as well as up-to-the-minute coverage on all of our Hispanic athletes.”
Live from Athens, Telemundo will begin its broadcast on Aug. 11, two days before the Opening Ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games. Telemundo’s Olympic coverage includes special programs from the network’s studios in Athens with renowned sports anchors Jessi Losada and Andrés Cantor, the network’s official broadcast hosts.
The following listings, which are subject to change, offer daily highlights of Telemundo’s 169.5 hours of coverage from Athens. All times are listed Eastern and Pacific Time (ET/PT) unless otherwise noted. During the Olympic Games, please consult OlimpiadasTelemundo.com for the most complete daily listings.
