Rosas-Landa – Opinion Editor of Hoy Chicago Edition.

Hoy, a Spanish-language daily newspaper serving Chicago, announced that Antonio Rosas-Lando has been named opinion editor of its Chicago edition.

Since 1999 Rosas-Landa has contributed political analysis and editorials to several newspapers, including Hoy, as a freelance writer and journalist. His work has included interviews with political leaders including the former Foreign Relations Secretary Jorge G. Castaneda, Mexican presidential candidate Manuel Camacho and the former Mexican ambassador to the United Nations Adolfo Aguilar Zinser. His editorials have also appeared in ¡Exito!, a free-weekly newspaper published by the Chicago Tribune from 1993 to 2003, El Financiero, a national Mexican newspaper, Chicago Ahora, a community weekly newspaper and Hoy.

“Antonio brings to Hoy a deep understanding of Mexican politics,” said Digby Solomon Diez, Hoy interim publisher and general manager of the Chicago edition. “His opinion pieces will be a great addition to the editorial pages of Hoy.”

Rosas-Landa is an active lecturer on Mexican political and cultural issues, including the country’s bilateral relationship with the United States, and speaks at Chicago-area colleges.

A native of Mexico City, Rosas-Landa worked as a congressional advisor, political consultant and campaign manager in 1997 for Congressman David Jimenez in Mexico City. From 1997-1999, he was an analyst and survey conductor of Covarrubias & Associates, a firm that specializes in opinion and electoral polls. In addition to his freelance work, he was a developer and business consultant for the Bugambilias Mall project in Mexico City from 2002 to 2004.

“I look forward to responding to the needs of Chicago’s diverse Hispanic community and providing commentary on issues that are important to them,” said Rosas-Landa.
