Hoy Opens News Bureau In Chicago’s ‘La Villita’.
July 3, 2004
Hoy, a Spanish-language daily newspaper serving Chicago, announced the opening of a news bureau in the city’s Little Village neighborhood. The office, located at 3948 W. 26th Street in Chicago, is home to an editorial team focused on reporting news and information in the predominantly Mexican neighborhoods of Little Village and Pilsen, as well as suburban Berwyn and Cicero. In addition, a dedicated sales staff will serve the marketing needs of local advertisers.
“Hoy is committed to providing the most comprehensive coverage of local news and events for its readers,” said Digby Solomon Diez, Hoy interim publisher. “Investing more editorial and sales resources in key communities will help us remain close to what’s on our readers’ minds and help advertisers reach the growing population of Hispanics in Chicago.”
“Hoy has had a long relationship with the Little Village community and its leaders,” said Alejandro Escalona, Hoy Chicago’s editor-in-chief. “With the opening of our news bureau, we will have an even greater pulse on issues that are important to Little Village, Pilsen, Berwyn and Cicero residents and business owners.”
