Univision Boasts Record Primetime & Total Day Audience Levels.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that the Univision Network broadcast 49 of the top 50 programs among Hispanic Households and attracted more Adult 18-49 and 18-34 viewers in primetime and total day than any second quarter in the Company’s history.

Fueled by new primetime novelas, the best morning program in Spanish-language television, the #1 news properties throughout the day and the highest-rated sporting events among Hispanics on television, Univision’s Adult 18-49 audience grew 4% in primetime and 8% in total day compared to last year. Conversely, the “Big Four” English-language networks experienced an average decrease in viewership of 2% in primetime and 1% in total day despite the fact that they broadcast finales of some of America’s most popular sitcoms and reality shows this quarter.

“The Univision Network achieved remarkable growth in the second quarter, increasing its popularity and further bolstering its undisputed industry-leading position,” said Otto Padron, Vice-President, Programming and Promotions, Univision Network. “We have already seen a very strong response to the programming announced at this year’s Upfront and are looking forward to the successes of our new launches throughout the year. The continuous success of our existing programming coupled with the fresh appeal of our new offerings makes Univision today’s choice for the highest quality news and entertainment tailored specifically to Hispanic America on a local and national level.”
