According to Radio & Record, “Univision Radio’s Regional Mexican KSCA/Los Angeles has replaced afternooner Renan Almendarez Coello, known as “El Cucuy de la Tarde,” with former KHOT/Phoenix midday air talent David Palacios, a.k.a. “El Gatillero.” Palacios. Univision would not confirm that Almendarez has been let go from the company. However, R&R hears that Almendarez is reportedly in talks with SBS”.

Coello’s contract is up in the next couple of weeks and this could turn into an opportunity for another broadcaster. Renan Almendarez Coello’s ratings in LA in morning drive could be very competitve to the current morning drive personality on KSCA-FM Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo.
