American Diabetes Association Launches Spanish Version Of Diabetes Forecast.

Diabetes Forecast, the premier consumer/lifestyle magazine of the American Diabetes Association, announced the launch of a new, Spanish-language version of its publication, Diabetes Forecast en Espanol. This growth, which allows more comprehensive outreach to the Spanish-speaking community, reinforces Diabetes Forecast as the leading consumer magazine covering all aspects of diabetes, now reaching an even wider audience.

“Diabetes has become a devastating epidemic in the United States, and it disproportionately affects the Latino community,” said Linda Siminerio, RN, PhD, CDE, Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Forecast. “We believe that it is our responsibility to ensure that the information we provide is accessible to as many people as possible who are affected by this terrible disease. This is an important step for our publication,” she added.

Diabetes Forecast en Espanol will bring Latino customers culturally focused articles, both original and adapted from Diabetes Forecast, presented in both English and Spanish. The new publication offers healthy lifestyle information, recipes and other news with a look and feel that’s targeted to its core audience.

The cover story for the premier issue targets hypertension, with additional features including nutrition, a profile on Cari Dominguez, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and an “Ask the Experts” segment.
