Telemundo Launches DVD Tribute To Celia Cruz ¡AZÚCAR!

Telemundo’s most memorable music special, Celia Cruz: ¡Azúcar!, the tribute to the undisputed queen of salsa, was launched in stores on January 27th. Net proceeds will be donated to The Celia Cruz Foundation, which offers music scholarships to low-income students and supports entities dedicated to find a cure for cancer.

“Celia has always been such a special part of the Telemundo family,” said Jim McNamara, Telemundo’s President & CEO. “We are so proud to be able to contribute to her foundation by making this wonderful tribute available to all who loved her so much.”

The “Celia Cruz: ¡Azúcar!” DVD features the unforgettable tribute music concert hosted by Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony, with performances by some of the most recognized music stars who came together to perform for Celia; as well as never before seen footage, including Celia’s last performance, “Yerbero Moderno”; Behind the scenes images from the concert and rehearsals; Special messages from some of the stars who participated in the event; A captivating interview with Celia’s beloved husband, Pedro Knight, and candid words from the Queen of Salsa herself, Celia Cruz.
