Sí TV Seeks Submissions ‘Not-so-Foreign Filmmakers’.

As the new English-language Latino-themed cable network Sí TV prepares for its first-stage launch on February 25, it is seeking entries for its “Not-So-Foreign Filmmakers’ Showcase.” The channel looks to license independent feature-length and short films by, about and/or featuring Latinos, African Americans and Asians with subject matter appealing to a young (18-34) urban audience. The chosen films will appear on the network later this year in a programming block dedicated to independent films.

Sí TV co-founder Jeff Valdez commented, “Sí TV is recognized as an innovative company and, as we launch our network, we will continue to seek out diversity and undiscovered talent. The ‘Not-So-Foreign Filmmakers’ Showcase’ is a perfect outlet for multicultural youth who otherwise have no access to the entertainment industry. We are confident the selected material will have universal appeal.”

Each film must be submitted by the person or company authorized to distribute the film. Submissions may be entered in either VHS or DVD format to:
