TV One Network Targeting African Americans Launches.

Featuring a compelling mix of original and classic entertainment covering a wide array of television genres, TV One, the new network targeting African American adults, launched on January 19, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, at 12:00:01 AM ET (all times listed are ET).

As of January 19, the network will be available to 2.2 million subscribers in the following Comcast markets: Atlanta; Detroit; Flint, MI; Washington, DC; Baltimore; Richmond, VA; Ocean City, MD; Baltimore County, MD; Montgomery County, MD; Prince Georges County, MD; Howard County, MD; Anne Arundel County, MD; Arlington County, VA; Alexandria, VA; Dover, DE; and Rehoboth Beach, DE. TV One’s channel number in each system can be found on TV One’s web site (http://www.tv-one.tv).

TV One will also launch in February on Comcast systems in Chicago and Oakland, CA, and in April on Comcast in the city of Philadelphia. “We are delighted with the strong and positive response TV One has received among cable operators in urban markets and look forward to additional launches in the months ahead,” said TV One Chairman Alfred Liggins.
