December 26, 2003
Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation EVC, announced the appointment of Karl Alonso Meyer as General Manager of its Los Angeles radio cluster. Mr. Meyer’s appointment will take effect once his current duties with Radio Unica are complete. Mr. Meyer will oversee all operations across Entravision Radio’s six stations in the Los Angeles market, which include KSSE 107.1 FM Super Estrella, which is simulcast on KSSC and KSSD, KLYY 97.5 FM Oye! and KDLD and KDLE, which are simulcast on 103.1 FM.
With over 14 years of broadcast media sales and management experience, Mr. Meyer will be a valuable addition to Entravision Radio. Most recently, Mr. Meyer served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Radio Unica. During his five-year tenure, he was credited with guiding the company to its best revenue performance to date and creating and managing sales strategies for programs and major sporting events, as well as radio promotions and proprietary initiatives for non-traditional revenue. Prior to his position with Radio Unica, Mr. Meyer was the General Sales Manager of Telemundo’s KVEA-TV Channel 52, the company’s flagship station serving Los Angeles. While in this position, Mr. Meyer increased the station’s sales by 18% in his first year and helped it maintain the largest power share by daypart versus competing Spanish-language stations in the market. Mr. Meyer has also served in sales management positions for Telemundo’s Southwest and Orange County, California regions.
Jeffery Liberman, President of Entravision Radio, said, “We are very excited to welcome Karl to Entravision Radio as we work towards maximizing the value of our Los Angeles radio assets. His experience in media management and sales is proof of his strength as a leader and strategist. His accomplishments and acute knowledge of the broadcasting industry will be an integral part of helping Entravision Radio meet its objectives of increasing market share and driving ratings growth across our Los Angeles stations.”
