Hidalgo – Partner & CCO @ The Vidal Partnership.
November 8, 2003
The Vidal Partnership, Inc. (TVP) has hired Tony Hidalgo as Partner and Chief Creative Officer. He was chosen for this senior level management position because of his proven track record in creating an environment that sustains and encourages effective award-winning creativity, and the vision and experience to inspire the creative talent which is endorsed at TVP.
Most recently, Tony was President and Chief Creative Director at Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico. Prior to his employment with Saatchi & Saatchi, Tony was Creative Director at Lowe Mexico, Ogilvy Mexico, Leo Burnett Mexico and Leo Burnett Portugal. In addition, he was President of the Círculo Creativo de México – the country’s most respected creative industry institution.
“Tony Hidalgo is a perfect match for TVP” says Manny Vidal, President & CEO, “because we want to continue to compete against the best.” He added “The decision to bring Tony on board confirms TVP’s commitment to our creative product.” This mantra has secured The Vidal Partnership an impressive award roster for 2003: Mercury Awards – Best of Show, FIAP – Gold, Silver & Bronze; Advertising Age Creative Awards -2 Gold, 2 Silver; El Ojo de Iberoamérica -2 Gold; AAAA – O’Toole Multicultural Award.
With over 12 years of experience, Hidalgo has served as juror in the most important international advertising festivals such as the Advertising Age Awards, Clio Awards, FIAP, and El Ojo de Iberoamérica. Most recently, he was the juror representing Mexico at The Cannes Lions – the most sought-after advertising festival in the world.
Hidalgo’s “Niño” television spot for Sealy Mattress Company was recognized by the London magazine Campaign as one of the ten best commercials in the world. He was named Mexico’s Best Creative Director by Latin Spots magazine in 2002, won the Círculo Creativo de México’s Grand Prize for Television and Graphic Design, has won a CLIO Award, and Advertising Age Awards, among many others.
What helped Hidalgo decide to join TVP is the agency’s “unequaled commitment to creative as an attitude, not a department.” He added, “Their growth to date and potential is impressive. I’m looking forward to working with a mid-size independent agency, with a big mentality and ambition, willing to take risks while doing the best possible creative work for their clients.”
