Garcia – Telemundo KDVA-TV News Director In San Antonio.

Dan Garcia has been named News Director for Telemundo’s KVDA Channel 60 in San Antonio, Texas. The announcement was made today by Clara Rivas, Vice President and General Manager of the station.
García, a veteran journalist with over 30 years of experience, served as News Director at KFDX, the NBC affiliate in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Katie Award for coordinating a series on teenage pregnancy and two awards from the Texas AP Broadcasters. He was named Hispanic Journalist of the Year in 1989 by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. In 1990, both, the League of San Antonio and the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities named him Volunteer of the Year. He is a member of the Rotary Club in Wichita Falls, where he was recently elected as a board member.
