Gonzales – Re-Elected Board Chair @ USHCC.

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) reinstalled Texas-based entrepreneur J.R. Gonzales as the Chair of the USHCC Board of Directors (see feature article below). Longtime business owner and recipient of the Small Business Administration’s Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award Tina Cordova was elected as the new vice chair. In addition, the USHCC installed five new board members at its 24th Annual National Convention & Business Expo in Phoenix, AZ.

“J.R. has a proven track record of advocating for the Hispanic community both locally in his home state of Texas and nationally,” said George Herrera, USHCC President & CEO. “We look forward to his continued leadership in helping us forge strategic alliances and develop tools and resources to help Latino-owned businesses succeed.”

“For the past few years, the USHCC Board of Directors has had the pleasure of working with Tina Cordova and witnessing first-hand her commitment to the Hispanic business community,” said J.R. Gonzales. “Her extensive entrepreneurial and leadership experience will help us increase opportunities for Latino businesses and we are delighted that she will serve as the new vice chair.”

As such I am a passionate advocate on behalf of all Hispanic-owned businesses and I look forward to serving in my new capacity,” Tina Cordova said.

The five new members elected to the USHCC Board of Directors at the USHCC Convention include:

— REGION I: David C. Lizarraga, Managing Partner in TELACU Millennium and Millennium III as well as a partner in
Millennium LMI. He is based in Los Angeles, California.

— REGION II: Frank Rivera, President/CEO and majority owner of ATL, Inc., a construction management and construction
consultant with offices in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff and Globe, Arizona.

— REGION III: Massey Villarreal, CEO and President of Precision Task Group, Inc., (PTG). PTG is a Hispanic-owned and managed computer-consulting firm based in Houston, TX, providing data processing solutions to public and private sector firms.

— REGION IV: Ruben Acosta, Co-Managing and Founding Member of Williams Acosta, PLLC, a diverse business law firm based in
Detroit, Michigan.

— REGION VI: Enid Toro de Baez, President of United Retailers Association of Puerto Rico, a San Juan-based organization that represents more than 20,000 retailers and businesses in Puerto Rico.

Sheila Guarderas, Region I; Ray Arvizu, Region II; Marco Arredondo, Region III; Juventino Cano, Region IV; and Raiza Tamayo, Region VI have retired from or completed their terms on the Board.
