People en Español hikes ratebase.

Lisa Quiroz, publisher of People en Español, announced that the magazine will further increase its guaranteed ratebase to 425,000 in January 2004.

“This has been another stellar year for People en Español, especially in terms of ad sales and revenue growth,” says Quiroz. “Our record numbers continue to support that we are the premiere print vehicle for reaching all segments of the Hispanic market.”

The ratebase growth is a direct result of the magazine’s increased performance in both ad pages and revenue — 30.50% and 37.96% respectively. Other key factors of this success include strong subscription growth and the magazine’s recent editorial redesign. Under the leadership of editor Richard Pérez Feria, People en Español has already begun to show positive growth on the newsstand. Feria’s debut issue is now the best-selling regular issue since May 1999.
