August 8, 2003
Radiovisa Corporation announced that it’s wholly owned subsidiary Radiovisa Los Angeles LLC has entered into an agreement with Catholic Radio Network to acquire radio station KPLS-AM 830, Orange County / Los Angeles. The agreement is subject to all necessary FCC approvals.
Commenting on this first acquisition, Radiovisa Chairman Steve Lehman stated, “The acquisition of KPLS will act as a strong catalyst in facilitating a powerful flagship affiliate for Radiovisa. This is the most interesting opportunity I’ve seen in Radio since selling Premiere, and I’m looking forward to working with a team in building a new Hispanic Radio Network and in creating compelling content for the largest and fastest growing minority population in the US.”
“This is one of the best AM signals in the country with 50,000 watts covering Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties,” said Ray De La Garza, COO for Radiovisa. “Radiovisa is poised to make an immediate impact on the Southern California area with this great signal.”
Radiovisa is a producer and national syndicator of Spanish language radio programs and services and is headed by Steve Lehman, former founder, Chairman and CEO of Premiere Radio Networks, the number one radio network in the country featuring the personalities including Rush Limbaugh, Jim Rome, Rick Dees, Dr. Laura Schlessinger and others.
Radiovisa currently produces and syndicates “Gerardo Por La Manana”, a morning talk show hosted by Gerardo Lorenz and “En Privado”, an evening show hosted by Dr. Juancarlos Ortiz.
