High Flying Hispanic Initiative @ Southwest Airlines.

In an effort to speak to the growing number of Hispanics flying Southwest Airlines, the publishers of Southwest Airlines Spirit magazine have begun to dedicate culturally relevant editorial in each issue of the inflight magazine. Beginning with this September’s issue, and in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, readers will be treated to articles covering a wide range of topics highlighting the contributions to our nation by outstanding Latinos from the worlds of sports, entertainment, business and literature as well as special events happening across the country.

Although the content is currently being published in English, there are plans to produce bilingual editorial sections in March and September of 2004.

“It is our hope that this new editorial focus allows all of us to ponder the net gains of ethnic diversity,” says John R. Clark, editor of Spirit magazine.
