July 18, 2003
Telemundo announces the return to the passion and excitement of novelas and reality shows in the new fall season with its most recent original productions that reflect the life of Hispanics in the United States, with “La Cenicienta,” a reality love story, and “Amor Descarado”, a fresh and hilarious novela, beginning Monday, September 8, during prime time.
“La Cenicienta” is a reality love story featuring 23-year-old Minerva Ruvalcaba, a real-life Cinderella, living out a once in a lifetime opportunity to find her Prince Charming from among 20 handsome suitors vying for her love. And, like many Latin ladies, Minerva will not choose her Mr. Right without the help of her family, her friends, an astrologer and a very special priest, Father Albert. La Cenicienta’s host is Eva Tamargo Lemus (NBC’s Passions) Minerva’s Madrina (Godmother) and confidante, who also plays a vital role in the final decision. Minerva, “Cinderella,” embarks in a journey of passion, conflict, humor and cultural, racial and religious differences, while she reduces the number of candidates, until reaching the last one, the fortunate Prince Charming. But Minerva will reveal a secret, a surprise that will forever affect her new relationship. “La Cenicienta” debuts Monday, September 8, at 7 PM/6c.
“Amor Descarado”, the first novela being taped at the new Telemundo production facilities in Miami, is a comedy about two seemingly identical men who, by a twist of fate, interchange lives. Starring José Ángel Llamas and Bárbara Mori, the novela begins with the traffic accident suffered by millionaire industrialist Rodolfo Fuentemayor. A witness, Pedro “Pelluco” Solis, looks so much like Rodolfo that he is mistakenly given Rodolfo’s wallet and identification cards, while Rodolfo is taken to the hospital. Pelluco has every intention of returning the wallet to the family of the man in the accident, until he sees the photo of Rodolfo’s fiancée and falls in love at first sight. When he arrives at Rodolfo’s mansion, everyone, including the fiancée, mistakes him for Rodolfo. At that moment, he is unable to resist the temptation of tasting a little of the “good life.” In the meantime, Rodolfo, who awakes with amnesia, is claimed at the hospital by Pelluco’s family and unwittingly, takes his place, although he is sure there is something strange when he finds himself working at the street market. The humor-filled Amor Descarado premieres Monday, September 8, at 8PM/7c.
