Jaguares de Chiapas of Mexico @ Fox Sports en Español.

Fox Sports en Español has secured the exclusive, live U.S. telecast rights to all home games of Jaguares de Chiapas, one of Mexico’s first division soccer teams, for the 2003/2004 season. The games will be televised on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. (ET)/1:00 p.m. (PT). Fox Sports en Español will air up to 19 games plus any home playoff games of the Jaguares during the season that runs through May 2004.

In a separate deal, Fox Sports en Español has also acquired the U.S. telecast rights to the home games of six Costa Rican first division teams: Saprissa, Perez-Heledon, Santa Barbara, San Carlos, Cartagines and Guanacasteca. The network will broadcast a total of 44 games during the upcoming season, with telecasts set to begin Thursday, August 21.

Mexican and Costa Rican soccer join a network programming roster that includes season-long league competitions from Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras and the United States, as well as the Barclaycard English Premier League, widely acknowledged as the world’s best soccer league. Fox Sports en Español also holds exclusive rights to the world’s best soccer tournaments, including the Copa Toyota Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Recopa Sudamericana, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the recently concluded 2003 ChampionsWorld Series in the United States, which featured Manchester United, Club America, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus and Celtic.
