ACE Cash Express Checks In With DDB Dallas & Cultura.
July 4, 2003
ACE Cash Express announced that it has named DDB Dallas and Cultura˜ as advertising agencies of record for the company. DDB, an Omnicom agency and Cultura˜, an Omnicom affiliate, will be responsible for general market and Hispanic market duties, respectively. Headquartered in Irving, ACE Cash Express is the largest owner, operator and franchiser of check-cashing stores in the United States with a network of over 1,187 stores. Billings were undisclosed at the request of the client.
The agencies will work together to continue to reposition ACE from a check-cashing company to a retail financial services provider for the “unbanked”, individuals without traditional banking relationships. DDB and Cultura˜ will partner with ACE to develop an integrated marketing communications plan for the general market and the Hispanic market, a growing segment for ACE. DDB will also be responsible for national consumer promotions.
“DDB and Cultura are idea-centered agencies that deliver big business-building ideas in addition to a superior creative product,” said Jake Schroepfer, Chief Marketing Officer, ACE Cash Express. “Their ability to bring proprietary insights into our business and key targets were also key factors in the decision.”
DDB Dallas has a strong heritage in the retail arena and has driven traffic for clients like JCPenney and the Texas Lottery. “We relish the opportunity to bring our integrated retail expertise to ACE, a company poised for dynamic growth,” said Janet Bustin, Managing Director of DDB Dallas.
“ACE has the potential to satisfy a critical need for financial services within the U.S. Hispanic community. We look forward to partnering with both ACE and DDB to develop a strategic approach to what promises to be a phenomenal growth opportunity for ACE,” said Juan Faura, President of Cultura˜.
