NBC & Telemundo Team-up In Prime For 4th of July In San Jose.

NBC11 and Telemundo 48 announced that they will team up for the first time in prime time to bring viewers the most extensive broadcast coverage ever of local July 4th celebrations.
Each station will broadcast from 9 to 10 p.m. on July 4. NBC11 anchors Brent Cannon and Laura Garcia-Cannon will lead the station’s broadcast in English. Anchor Cesar Bayona and reporter Lupita Figueiredo will host Telemundo 48’s Spanish language coverage. Both stations will carry a live simulcast of the fireworks at the San Jose festival for the final half hour of the prime-time programs.
“The shared ownership of two stations in the same market will allow us to offer all viewers local programming of unprecedented quality,” said Linda Sullivan, NBC11 President and General Manager.
“Working together we can offer the entire Bay Area community a broadcast that does justice to this great celebration of freedom,” said Eddie Dominguez, Vice President and General Manager of KSTS Telemundo.
NBC11 and Telemundo 48 are the official television sponsors of the San Jose America Festival, which benefits the Emergency Housing Consortium. EHC provides shelter and supportive services such as food, clothing, transportation assistance, housing search, adult education and literacy programs, on-site medical services, legal aid, job training and employment search assistance to homeless youth, families and individuals in Santa Clara County.
