Global Hue Hispanic Moves.
April 27, 2003
GlobalHue has signed on two top Hispanic marketing experts to augment the agency’s long-standing and growing Hispanic-market practice: José Nine, SVP/Director of Hispanic Initiatives, and Cristián Dobles, SVP/Executive Creative Director.
“GlobalHue already has experienced Hispanic-market teams in its San Antonio, New York, Miami and Los Angeles offices,” said Donald A. Coleman, Chairman and CEO of GlobalHue. “These outstanding new additions to the GlobalHue team enable us to better coordinate efforts with our talented staff and fully utilize resources from all our offices to sharpen our focus on Hispanic initiatives.”
Both of the new execs will report to Coleman and will work closely with Carlos Montemayor, Vice Chairman of GlobalHue and President of the San Antonio office, as well as with Hispanic-market teams in each of the other GlobalHue offices.
“GlobalHue is not just the largest multicultural marketing agency in the U.S., we possess an unequaled depth of Hispanic-market expertise in automotive, beverage, financial, telecommunications and other categories that will help us guide our current and future clients to leadership positions in the new multicultural America,” Coleman added.
Nine, formerly Director of Multicultural Marketing for Fannie Mae, will coordinate all GlobalHue Hispanic initiatives, including new account acquisitions and the work of the agency’s full-service Hispanic marketing team of creative, account service, promotions and PR in San Antonio.
“I have never seen the Hispanic market as hot as it is right now,” said Nine. “This is the engine that is now the driving force for agencies because the general market area is stagnant. In addition, corporate America now recognizes that the flavor-of-the-month formula no longer works. The Hispanic market is demanding innovative creative, and that is what we will deliver.”
Dobles will head up all agency creative work, including multicultural, Hispanic, African American and Asian. Recipient of numerous creative awards, Dobles comes to GlobalHue from Lumina Americas in New York, where he was Executive Creative Director.
“GlobalHue’s creative will be reflective of the vibrant, exciting new America – an America where distinct cultures are coming together to define a new sense of identity,” said Dobles. “We will celebrate in every execution the beauty of the different individual cultures with the utmost respect for their core values while recognizing how these individual cultures seek out and embrace the best of each other.”
Nine will be based at GlobalHue’s Detroit headquarters. Dobles will work from the company’s New York City office.
Nine has 15 years’ in-culture marketing experience targeting various segments of the U.S. Hispanic market. Before joining Fannie Mae, he was vice president of the Hispanic business unit at Capital One where he established a successful and innovative integrated direct-marketing program targeting U.S. Latinos. He also has worked with Banco Popular North America, Wells Fargo Bank and Levi Strauss & Co.
Dobles has 20 years’ executive-level creative and agency experience in the automotive, beverages, communications/technology, energy, entertainment, fashion/apparel, fast food, financial services, government, health care, packaged goods and retail categories, in the U.S. and Latin America. He has won numerous creative awards, including a “Best of Adweek,” several ADDYs, Se Habla Español awards, New York International Film Festival awards, and Pregonero de Oro and Pregonero de Bronze awards. Dobles has served twice as chairman of the Hispanic Creative Review Board for the Partnership for a Drug Free America.
In his previous position at Lumina Americas, Dobles led campaigns for Chase Manhattan Bank, US Air Force, Clear Channel, Nike Interactive Latin America, Kraft Interactive US Hispanic, and Bustelo Coffee. He also has held executive positions at the New York offices of Hispanamerica; ADWORKS Inc.; UniWorld Group Inc.; The Bravo Group, Young & Rubicam; and Conill Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi. He began his agency career in Costa Rica at Publicidad Garnier S.A.
