mun2 television 2003-2004 Fall Line-up.
April 19, 2003
Statistics show that 55% of 18-34 Hispanics are English dominant. This fall, mun2 television presents a line-up of original productions specifically made to reflect the lifestyles and realities of its audience, driven more by cultural relevance and less by language.
“We are delivering programming to an audience that is hyper-dynamic and trend-setting. Until the launch of mun2, this audience could not see itself reflected anywhere on television,” said Alan Sokol, Chief Operating Officer at Telemundo. “We are very proud of our upcoming slate of programs, which is entirely original and unique.”
Led by the success of “The Roof,” and headlining the new weekly line-up, is a new hour in primetime titled “Off the Roof.” Airing Monday through Friday from 10-11PM this new fast-paced magazine style show will feature a variety of topics from sports, fashion and music to politics and culture with a west-coast feel. In addition, the show will present a regular segment tiled “Rise and Shine” highlighting accomplishments of Latinos from California through Texas who are seldom represented in television.
This fall, mun2 will also beef up its weekend line-up beginning with “Lugar Heights,” a weekly animated series with a Latin twist featuring six very different characters who are all best friends, ranging from a hyper-active Mexican kid named Manos Mendez to the spunky China Lopez who is half Colombian and half Puerto Rican. The edgy, urban series paints a very real and funny picture of growing up a U.S. born Latino. Also coming soon will be “Twisted Novela Theater,” a weekly series that takes traditional novelas and makes them hysterically funny. Finally, mun2 will launch “Powergamer,” a weekly show that takes viewers into the gaming world, its fans and the new tech toys that guarantee its popularity.
