“Ladrón de Corazones,” (Thief of Hearts), which stars the public’s favorite thief, Manolo Cardona, sensual Lorena Rojas and veteran actor Humberto Zurita, will hit Telemundo screens on Monday, May 19 at 9PM/8c.

“We are thrilled with this project designed to appeal to male and female viewers alike being produced in Mexico City; not only because it includes a top-notch cast, but also because it is filled with action shots and high-tech elements never before seen in a Spanish-language novela,” said Mauricio Gerson, Senior Vice President of Programming for Telemundo.

“Ladrón de Corazones” is the thrilling story of Gustavo Velasco’s (Cardona) and Verónica Vega’s (Rojas) forbidden love. He was forced to become a thief and she’s an undercover police officer. Fate brings them together to destroy a drug-dealing network and unbeknownst to them but known by the audience, they both struggle to achieve the same goal from opposite ends of the law.

Neither of them realizes, however, that Antonio Vega (Zurita), Verónica’s father, is the real enemy who leads a double life. On one hand, he’s a respected business man, former police officer and a good father. On the other, he’s the head of the most feared Mafia organization in the country, which he runs anonymously.

When Gustavo and Verónica meet, she believes he’s involved in drug dealing and he thinks she’s a prostitute, since she impersonates one on the job. Despite it all, they both feel irresistibly attracted to each other. From then on, they try to go against their own feelings. Finally, they realize they were made for each other.

Despite the hurdles they face, Gustavo and Verónica fall madly in love. Will these two young people be able to live together and be happy, even though they lead completely opposite lives?
