Quezada Joins Telemundo 52 News In Los Angeles.

Telemundo announced that Eduardo Quezada, veteran Univision news anchor, has joined Telemundo 52 (KVEA) in Los Angeles as anchor of the 6 and 11pm newscasts. The announcement, effective immediately, was made by Manuel Abud, Telemundo 52’s President and General Manager.

The award-winning journalist, who was recently honored with the National Association of Minorities in Communications’ (NAMIC) Quasar Award, has served as news anchor for Univision 34 News in Los Angeles since 1975.

“We are very proud to welcome Eduardo to his new home Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles,” said Abud. “Eduardo’s experience as an LA-based journalist for 28 years reinforces our commitment to local news. This is yet another example of Telemundo’s dedication to the community.”

Quezada began his career as a radio announcer for XEPB-FM in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. At the age of 20, he became the youngest television personality of a weekly TV program, where he presented local talent on XEWH-TV, Channel 6. Prior to joining Univision 34 Los Angeles, he served as news director and anchor for KAPI-Radio in Pueblo, Colorado.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to become part of a news operation committed to both local and national news,” said Quezada. “With the support of NBC News, Telemundo 52 has the most extensive resources in Los Angeles to serve the Hispanic community.”

Besides his role as a news anchor, Quezada has appeared in numerous programs and events, including: “Camino al OTI,” “Los Angeles Ahora,” and “Contacto,” a half-hour news magazine show that he wrote and produced. He also served as host for the “Rose Parade” and has served as special news correspondent for international events, such as former President Ronald Reagan’s meeting with Mexico’s President Miguel de la Madrid in La Paz, Baja California, Mexico. Quezada has also interviewed important personalities, including writer Octavio Paz and Cesar Chávez, founder of the United Farm Workers of America.
