Telemundo’s Jorge Hidalgo – Sports Illustrated ‘Most Powerful Minorities In Sports’.

Jorge Hidalgo, Telemundo Executive Vice President of Sports, was chosen as one of the “Most Powerful Minorities in Sports” by the renowned magazine Sports Illustrated.

Emmy winner Jorge Hidalgo was recently promoted to Executive Vice President of Sports for Telemundo after serving as Senior Vice President of Sports for almost four years. Hidalgo spearheads the network’s sports programming development and supervises the sports department as well as all sports programs and events for the network.

He has been honored with three Emmy Awards and a co-recipient of the prestigious the 1997 Edward R. Murrow Award, was responsible for the multi-annual agreement to air the Mexican Soccer League games as well as the exclusive rights to both the Mexican and United States national soccer teams during their qualifications process for the World Cup 2002. He also developed “La NBA en Telemundo,” “Titulares Telemundo,” “Los Triunfadores,” “Boxeo Telemundo,” among other special sports programs for the network.
