Jorge Ramos, co-anchor of “Noticiero Univision,” on Sunday, March 23, became the first American evening network TV news anchor from a non-cable broadcast network to broadcast live comprehensive coverage of the war against Iraq from a location in the Middle East.
Ramos, who anchored “Noticiero Univision” from Doha, Qatar on Sunday before shifting his base of operations to Kuwait City yesterday, will continue to anchor the news from the war zone and file special reports as needed throughout the day for the duration of hostilities. He joins Univision’s news correspondent, Victor Hugo Saavedra, who has been covering the war from Kuwait City since its start on Wednesday, March 19.
