Mendoza Dillon Honored By Public Relations Society of America.

Mendoza Dillon recently received the Spotlight Award of Excellence and the Totem Award from the Public Relations Society of America, for their innovative awareness campaign targeting the Hispanic market in Los Angeles.

Mendoza Dillon, in collaboration with Cole & Weber/Red Cell, developed a bilingual grassroots program to promote Tillamook Cheese among Hispanics. The strength of the campaign was in its direct sampling approach; a community focused strategy which introduced the brand to this segment in a credible and relevant environment.

“We knew we had to bring it into the neighborhoods – the community events, the parishes, the Independent grocery stores ” commented Nanette Johnson, Diversified Communications Services Director at Mendoza Dillon. “Introducing the Tillamook brand to this new audience called for a non-traditional approach.”

The Totem Award was presented by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and the Spotlight Award of Excellence, by the Portland Metro Chapter of the PRSA. These prestigious awards recognize the best public relations programs, and the judges noted “superb campaign, great background research, solid strategic plan, and a wonderful way to introduce a brand to a new market.”
