María Celeste Gets Her ‘Estrellita’ @ Calle Ocho.

María Celeste, the star of Telemundo’s successful program, “Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste”, will receive a star at the famous Paseo de las Estrellas in Little Havana this May. The announcement was made by the Estrellas de la Calle Ocho organization, who has given this recognition to other celebrities like Juan Gabriel, Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan and Julio Iglesias, among others.

“With this star, I feel twice excited. First, because it’s a true honor to join other people I admire and, secondly because I consider that with this gesture, Miami recognizes me as their adoptive daughter. After spending almost eleven years of my life, I feel part of this community. Miami will have a special place in my heart because my children were born here and I will have a star here as well,” said the Puerto Rican anchor, who has previously lived in Los Angeles, New York and San Juan.

The event, whose official date will be announced in the next few weeks, will have the presence of television, political and community personalities. Maria Celeste’s star will be located between Calle 8 (8th Street) and 14th Avenue in the southwest.

Last November, Maria Celeste received a star at the Boulevard de las Estrellas in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This coming month, she will be honored with the 2003 ACE Award as the Female Personality of the Year awarded by the Association of Entertainment Reporters (Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos).
