NAMIC – Diversity In Entertainment Panel On February 27th In NYC.

The National Association of Minorities in Communications, (NAMIC New York, Inc.) is joining forces with The Nickelodeon Networks’ Diversity Team to host a panel discussion entitled “Diversity in Entertainment: Trends, Programming and Perspectives.” The panel will take place Thursday, February 27th at The Studio Museum in Harlem (144 West 125th St.).

Panelists will include Pat Battle, Reporter, News Channel 4; Jeffrey Dunn, Chief Operating Officer/President, Nickelodeon Enterprises; L. Londell McMillan, Principal of L. Londell McMillan,P.C. and actor/filmmaker Marcos Antonio Miranda. Cheryl Wills, weekend evening anchor, NY1 will moderate the panel.

“This event is designed to open the channels of communication amongst industry leaders in music, television, and film in an effort to increase the levels of diversity in all areas,” said Cherine Anderson, President, NAMIC New York, Inc. “Attendees will also have a chance to network with fellow industry associates, meet the 2003 NAMIC New York Board and learn how to get involved with NAMIC NY this year.”

The event will kick off with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. and the panel will start at 7:15 p.m. It is free for both NAMIC members and non-members, but seating is limited. To RSVP, please call 212-969-8622.

NAMIC, is a 1200-member 501(c)(6) trade association. NAMIC was founded in 1980 as “The National Association of Minorities in Cable.” NAMIC’s mission is to educate, advocate, and empower for the cause of diversity in the telecommunications industry through its 16 chapters.
