La Opinión Digital & BlackVoices.com Launch ProFound.
January 25, 2003
La Opinión Digital, the online division of La Opinion newspaper in Los Angeles, and BlackVoices.com, one of the nation’s leading destinations for African-American adults online, announces the launch of ProFound, a comprehensive solution for human resource recruiters targeting minority professionals.
ProFound allows employers to post their jobs to an online database or access one of the largest resume databases of Hispanic and African-American professionals. Through its La Opinión connection, ProFound offers a large selection of Hispanic bilingual candidates. The partnership delivers a powerhouse combination of La Opinión’s and BlackVoices’ online and print components. In addition to La Opinion’s web site and BlackVoices.com, employers can reach candidates through print media via La Opinión and Black Voices Quarterly.
The joint effort will create a unique job recruiting resource for recruitment specialists who are seeking top caliber candidates with professional experience and diverse backgrounds. ProFound will help fulfill diversity initiatives that an increasing number of companies have implemented in order for their organizations to reflect changing demographics. The partnership aims to be the primary resource for human resource recruiters by bringing thousands of professional Hispanics and African Americans under one banner.
“We’ve created a dynamic solution that provides recruiters and companies with the perfect one, two punch” says Mary Zerafa, Director of La Opinión Digital. “We both bring strong name brands and our combined demographics create a large and diverse pool of professional talent which is a benefit to all ProFound customers.”
ProFound will leverage the strong brands of La Opinión and Black Voices by promoting the service to consumers under their respective brands. Job seekers will access the service through laopinion.com and BlackVoices.com. La Opinión and laopinion.com reach over 1 million Hispanics every week. BlackVoices has a large readership in print and an equal number of users through their online channel, BlackVoices.com. Together, La Opinión and BlackVoices have a reach of 2 million.
“Businesses and organizations have taken a look outside and realize that to remain competitive workplaces have to reflect the diversity of the U.S. population,” said Carlos Barrionuevo, BlackVoices.com chief operating officer.
