Creative Civilization – An Aguilar/Girard Agency has named Francisco J. Castillo as Public Relations Manager. He is responsible for overseeing the functions of the public relations department and for planning and implementing campaigns in both general and Hispanic U.S. markets and Mexico.
Castillo oversees public relations work on behalf of the American Cancer Society (Texas and National), Animal Defense League, CowParade San Antonio, Gonzaba Medical Group, Laurel Ridge Hospital, Oak Farms Dairy, San Fernando Cathedral, San Antonio Express-News and Vara Chevrolet. Previous client work at the agency includes the Texas Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention initiative, Texas Department of Transportation’s Don’t Mess With Texas campaign and KellyUSA Business Park.
Prior to joining Creative Civilization, Castillo worked at San Antonio-based Bromley Communications, leading public relations projects on behalf of Western Union, Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards, Boy Scouts of America, KLRN Public Television and the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. He also assisted with a variety of accounts, including Terra.com, Nike, Procter & Gamble, Showtime, University of the Incarnate Word and the National Institute of Mental Health.
Castillo is the recipient of eight regional, national and international awards in public relations. A native Texan, Castillo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Currently, Castillo is a board member of the San Antonio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and he’s an active member of the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA), International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists (SAAHJ).
