Discovery Networks LatAM Adds Sales AEs.

Discovery Networks, Latin America/Iberia, the Miami-based arm of Discovery Communications, Inc. and the leader in high-quality, reality-based programming in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula, has strengthened its presence in the region by adding two new Advertising Sales Account Directors. Celso Vergeiro and Domingo Salermo will represent Discovery in Brazil and Latin America respectively, and will be responsible for overseeing and developing advertising sales programs for all of Discovery’s networks in their corresponding territories. Ivan Bargueiras, Vice President, Advertising Sales, made the announcement.

“Domingo and Celso’s past successes and knowledge of the market in these regions make them two very valuable and instrumental members of our sales team,” remarked Bargueiras. “They will play a key role in developing strategies to continually address clients’ needs and the needs of the Latin American marketplace, enabling Discovery to increase its share in the Pay TV advertising arena.”

With more than 10 years of experience in the industry, Vergeiro joins the Discovery Ad Sales team from Rede Record de Televisão, where he was Executive Director of Business Development. Previously, he served as Advertising Sales Manager for companies such as FOX Latin American Channels do Brasil and HBO Brasil. He has also worked for Globosat Canais, Rádio Transamérica and MTV Brasil.

Formerly the general manager of Discoven Medios, Discovery’s Venezuelan Ad Sales representation company, Salermo has held top management roles as Vice President, Sales for Union Radio, one of Venezuela’s largest and most important radio companies, and Vice President of Advertising Sales for VC studios. Previously, he held management positions in Radio Caracas Television, Venevision and SuperCable.
